Teddy is 2... the first celebration!

I have recently found a new way to cope with stress and it is surprising to those who know me well. Lately, I have been in the kitchen... baking! The more that has been going on in our family, the more I have been in the kitchen. Teddy's birthday definitely benefited from this new hobby (obsession) of mine. With Teddy's birthday approaching, I channeled my cooking energies towards Sesame Street themed treats. Here are the cupcakes I made for our Play Group birthday celebration (yes Teddy had many birthday celebrations this year. We obvious LOVE to celebrate!):
Teddy was excited to have his friends over:

Seems like just yesterday when we joined the playgroup and these guys weren't even one!
I think everyone enjoyed the cupcakes:
December was of course a busy month for holiday parties as well. We were invited to four parties all on the same day.... we only made it to two (though we had plans to go to three, Teddy's nap took priority). We snapped this picture ourselves using our timer before we went to holiday party #1:

December Fun

I am obviously way behind on updating this blog. December is a busy month for everyone and we are no exception. Between celebrating Christmas, Chanukah, our anniversary, and Teddy's birthday, we also took three out of town trips during December this year. Needless to say, we are exhausted. So here are some of the highlights of our month.
Teddy was excited to go celebrate his friend Nicole's first birthday. Here he and his buddy Daniel were being silly, obviously trying to impress the lovely Lilly:
Teddy and I went to our MOMS Club Holiday party early in the month. The highlight of the party was a large container filled with rice and other objects:
A GREAT idea of how to keep your toddler busy. Just be prepared to clean up lots and lots of rice. It was everywhere..... and we were in the library. They are probably still finding rice.
But these kids spent over an hour playing with the rice:
In fact, the only thing that tore Teddy away from the rice was the bigger kids. He loves the two 4 year old girls who are hiding behind the curtain:
Teddy and his buddy Daniel were so funny playing inside our ottoman. They were so silly and giggled the entire time:
Shae and Teddy putting up our Christmas tree:
Violet came over for a play date and so we could take some cousin pictures. Teddy had fun trying on Uncle Hal's shoes:
Aunt Jenn got some really cute shots:
December was also exciting because it was the first time in 2 years that I have brought some money into the household. A friend of mine payed me to make cake pops for her son's birthday party. Here they are:
Happy Birthday Neal!

Two Year Old (almost) Pictures

I meant to post these earlier but it has been a hectic month! We had Teddy's 2 year photos taken a little early by my friend Andrea. She did an amazing job and we enjoyed shooting the pictures at the Roswell Mill.
Love this little man!
He loved walking up and down the long bridge!

Andrea also took the pictures at Teddy's friend's birthday party in October. She was kind enough to include some of the pictures from the party on our cd. Teddy had a great time at the farm party:

Miss "Bangie's" Wedding and our Family Vacation

My friends Angie and Earnest recently became engaged and decided to have a "planned elopement." We were lucky enough to be included, so we headed down to Tybee Island for the special day. Teddy loves "Miss Bangie" (as he calls her) and he dressed up for her special day:
I have to include this next picture because I am very proud of it. Angie's maid of honor asked me to help her with Angie's hair. Let me just say, I do not know anything about fixing hair. It took us a while, but I think we did a pretty good job:
Teddy before the ceremony (also before he was quickly removed from the ceremony by his father after yelling out "TV!").
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. King:
Time to party!!
The Hoscheks all dressed up:

Teddy with the beautiful Miss Bangie:
His favorite part, of course, was the cake:
We stayed in a gorgeous house near the beach, along with the rest of the guests and the bride and groom. When I returned from my walk on the beach in the morning, look who I found:
Teddy, on the beach, in his pj's. At least he has on his jacket... it was COLD. One day we will take Teddy to the beach when it is actually warm enough to have on shorts! (Last time he saw the ocean was almost a year ago- last December).
He didn't seem to mind though. He enjoyed the sand much more this year!
On Sat. the rest of the wedding guests returned home, but we decided to make it a weekend vacation. After we checked out, we found a fun restaurant for lunch and then headed out to the beach. Bonus- we saw the Tybee Island Christmas Parade too!
I think one of the sweetest things ever is a Daddy and their child on the beach:
Teddy loved digging in the sand with his shovel and dumping it into his bucket.
He even got his feet wet:
After the day in Tybee, we drove to Pooler (outside of Savannah) for the night. We enjoyed the indoor pool as well as the cable tv!! Then on Sunday we headed into Savannah.
Shae was very VERY excited to see the big boats!
After spending the morning in Savannah, we headed to McRae, Ga. Shae had some work there on Monday morning. We stayed at a State Park Lodge; it was really pretty and they had a fun playground that Teddy enjoyed. Overall, we had a great time! But Teddy was a little worn out by the time we headed home on Monday afternoon:
