Teddy is 23 months (and two days) old!

I guess I did pretty well if I got all the way to 23 months before I forgot to take the monthly photo of Teddy with his bear! So here he is, 23 months and two days old:
Silly boy with a bear on his head! As you can tell, Teddy is looking more and more like a big boy. He is talking in full sentences and makes us laugh all the time. He loves to sing songs and sometimes makes up his own words. He loves Bob Marley and will sing "No Woman No Cry" and change it to "No Elmo no cry" or "No baby no cry", etc. He also loves Buffalo Soldier, and Three Little Birds but Mamma Mia is still one of his favorite songs. It seems like every few days he has a new little saying that he says a lot. A few weeks ago it was "Oh my goodness" which sometimes came out "No my goodness." This past week almost any time I say something to him he says, "I know!" He is still crazy about Elmo and often won't leave the house with out his Elmo hat on. He also still loves his "baby slippers" even though they are two sizes too small. Lucky for him I went shopping on black Friday and he has a new pair of Elmo slippers waiting to be wrapped (he actually already found then but hopefully he will forget about that). One of his favorite things to do is to "shoot the basketball" and bless his heart, he tries every single day to shoot it into the hoop in our backyard. Although he has had a few ear infections and sinus infections, he is overall very healthy. Right now he is working on his 3rd 2 year molar. Only one more to go after it! Teddy still loves to help out; so he "helps" me feed the cat everyday, empty the dishwasher, and make the beds. He is such a good boy and typically very happy, and as always, we are so thankful for him!

Did I mention he even wants to sleep in his Elmo hat?

Happy Thanksgiving

I am once again very behind on posting. Before I get to actual Thanksgiving, here are some random picture. Teddy LOVES his teddy bear slippers. He wants to wear them ALL the time and he wears them with just about anything:
My mom babysat for Teddy and when I got home, this what I found:
SO sweet!
One morning, as soon as he woke up, Teddy went to his room, took out his Elmo costume, and asked to wear it. So here he is, in November, at breakfast time, all dressed up:
We found an easy and fun activity that is great for cold/rainy days. Home-made play dough:
Of course he immediately asked me to make his friends "Cookie, Elmo, and Grouch."
We were happy to celebrate Grandpa Bud's birthday. There sure were a lot of candles on his cake:
Sixty nine and he just ran his first half marathon. Looking good Grandpa!
Teddy loves celebrations!
OK...now for Thanksgiving. We were excited to host this year at our house. My sister in law wanted to bring the turkey- so that freed us up to make the sides. I made my own version of turkey though:
Mmm turkey cake pops- for the vegetarians at Thanksgiving!
Shae helped out and made several sides and pies:
Thanksgiving morning:
Here is the other turkey I prepared...again vegetarian friendly. (These are the ONLY kinds of turkeys you will ever find me preparing!)
Before we eat, we always go around the room and say what we are thankful for:
Teddy and Violet listened carefully:
Sweet Maggie wrote down a "speech" to read. It was absolutely adorable- she thanked us all for everything we do for her and for taking such good care of her. It was precious.
The kids table:
COUSINS:
Uncle Hal gave juggling lessons to Jack while Teddy watched:
We also had birthday cake for Grandpa Bud (because 5 pies and 45 cakes pops weren't enough)
The poor cake had a rough trip here.
Here is one thing I am thankful for this year:
Maggie and her cake pop:
Teddy and cousin Violet brushed their teeth together:
Shae, Teddy, and I were excited to go to the mountain house for the weekend with my parents. We drove up there Friday morning. Unfortunately, Grandma Judy fell down the stairs and broke some ribs right after we got there. Thankfully she is healing and improving daily.
Grandpa stepped in and cooked the pancakes for us in the morning:
They were yummy! Teddy enjoyed taking a bath in the mountain house:
He loved "driving" at the playground in Blairesville:
This slide was big enough for all three of us:
I think Teddy had a good time at the playground. The drive back to the house was only about 10 minutes but check Teddy out when we got back:
(Notice his hand in the snack cup!)
Teddy also had a great time shooting hoops:
But mostly we all enjoyed lounging around:
and eating:
and did I mention lounging around:
When we got back home, Teddy and I got to go meet a very sweet and brand new baby. I immediately fell in love with my friend Kimberly's little girl- Stella Rose:

We hope everyone had a healthy and happy Thanksgiving!

Fall Fun

Fall is here- it's football season, falling leaves, and colder weather. Why not sit on the potty too?
Fully clothed of course. And with a koozey in hand. Well, maybe it is a start.
Shae introduced Teddy to some of his worms for the first time. He was not too sure about it:
By far this is the cutest picture I have taken in a while:
Apparently Shae really wanted to nap with Teddy, even though Teddy chose to sleep in his bed. Poor Shae, he tried to get Teddy to nap in our bed!
At least Teddy helped rake up the leaves:
So, I admit it- we let Teddy's hair get a little crazy and long.
Here is the "before" picture the day he got his 3rd haircut:
YIKES! What a mess! Here is my handsome man AFTER:
He is such a cheese... he and I were cracking up as I tried to get him to pose for the camera:
Since it is getting colder, I took out Teddy's slippers. They were a gift for his 1st birthday and they really are too small but once he saw them, Teddy insisted on wearing them!
I made him take them off before we went to run some errands, and the entire time we were gone he kept saying, "Where Teddy's slippers?" or maybe it was "Wear Teddy's slippers!" As soon as we got home he marched to his room, brought me the slippers, and said "Mommy put on!" Silly boy has had them on every minute we are home since then. And they are so tight they leave a mark around his ankle! I guess we will be buying him some new slippers.
Lastly, here's a little video of our funny little man:
