Teddy is SEVEN months old!!!

Another month has flown by!!!! Here's our growing little man:Taking these monthly pictures with Teddy, the bear, and the sign have not always been easy. However, at 7 months, I suddenly noticed it got much harder! Not because I couldn't get him to smile. Teddy smiles a ton!!! But because for the first time, he was much more interested in the sign, the camera, and even the bear, than he was at posing for the picture. In fact, I tried to get a good shot in the morning, but finally decided I would wait until after his nap to try again. (You'll notice there was a change in outfits along the way as well). Here are some of the shots before I got the above picture:
Look out Vanna White!
At one point I even tried taping the sign to the chair (that did not work). I also lost the 7 that was taped on and had to make a new one. Silly boy!!
As you can tell, Teddy is becoming more active every day. Now that he is 7 months old, he is helping me out in the kitchen:
And of course, as he continues to play hard... Teddy also continues to nap hard. He is still taking 5-6 naps a day. Many times he falls asleep with toys still in his hand:
We have been very fortunate with all of the gifts and hand-me-downs we have received. I have hardly bought any clothes for Teddy. But I couldn't resist this T-shirt.
And today Teddy DID "give peas a chance." And he LOVED them! They are a close second to sweet potatoes.
We hope everyone is having a great week!

Real Men Wear Purple

Teddy got his new diaper covers and one of them is purple!!! Here he is showing them off:
This next picture is for you Uncle Matt! Check out those thighs:
Can you guess who is Teddy's favorite college team??? Teddy was very excited to get this hat as a surprise in the mail from Aunt Stephanie. It looks adorable on him. Thank you Aunt Steph!!!!!!!!!
Go Hawkeyes!
Teddy is doing really well with trying new foods, but I am pretty sure he already has a favorite. He LOVES sweet potatoes! Here is is excited about the bowl of sweet potatoes I am showing him!! (I should have brought some with us to the picture place last week!!!)
Here Teddy shows off his muscles, in his new "muscle shirt." Perfect for July in Atlanta!
This next picture is of Teddy on Saturday. We were on our way to a cook out. He was excited to meet some other baby friends there.
On Sunday, we all went to the Botanical Gardens as part of Shae's Father's Day gift. It was a lot of fun, although it was VERY VERY hot!!! We walked through the gardens and watched a chef's demonstration in the edible garden.
Three cool guys... just chilling out:
Teddy got to enjoy some milk in the tree tops on the Canopy Walk.
Here I am trying to cool off one hot baby:
This week Teddy also decided to form band. Here he is with his buddies:
Teddy has become very active lately and he loves to play with his toys. Of course, "playing with toys" really means "putting toys in his mouth."
No blog entry is complete with out a picture of Teddy and his Daddy sleeping. Perfect way to end a great weekend!

We fed Teddy some millet for the first time this week. We think he must have been expecting sweet potatoes, because he was so excited before Shae even had a chance to feed him, Teddy grabbed the spoon and put it in his mouth! I grabbed the camera to try to catch it on tape:

Teddy goes to the beach!

OK, so maybe we did not really take Teddy to the beach. Maybe we just went to the picture place. But I can dream, right? Hopefully if we do take him to the real beach, Teddy will be a bit more smiley. I am not sure if he was picking up on the grumpiness of his mom and dad or if it was just Murphy's law, but Teddy was NOT his usual smiley self today. We still got some really cute shots though:
Check out those thighs Uncle Matt!!!

Teddy and his Daddy. This is my FAVORITE one!

Our little man is looking so old!
"Oh no... not those bears again!!" No wonder he wasn't very smiley!

Fun Times!

Teddy was excited to go to his cousin Violet's first birthday party this weekend. Here is Teddy all dressed BEFORE the party: And here he is AFTER the party:Why was he so worn out? Partying with all of those other kids. Check out Violet's bedroom full of babies. There was a set of triplets, a set of twins, and at least three other babies all in one nursery! Not to mention all the mommies, daddies, and grandparents snapping pictures. Talk about chaos!!Cousin Maggie enjoys taking pictures and actually got a couple of really great shots:Teddy loves all of his cousins. But he and Maggie have a special bond. They are both apparently huge Twilight fans. I tried to get a picture of them together with their "vampire teeth," but getting a shot with both of their mouths opened at the same time was pretty difficult. Check out their matching smiles though in the next two pictures:

Here's the birthday girl. Happy Birthday Violet:

Teddy also had a fun time at playgroup this week. Teddy and the four other babies (who all live in our neighborhood) were all born within about 3 months of each other. Teddy is the youngest, but definitely not the smallest! We hosted at our house for the first time and he had a great time playing with the other children (and their older siblings). But after about thirty minutes, check out what Teddy was doing:Sleeping in the middle of a party???? Can't imagine where Teddy may get this from! (Around him were four babies and four older siblings loudly playing!)
Here are a couple more random pictures from this week. I received this dog from a good friend of mine at a baby shower before Teddy was born. Teddy absolutely LOVES this fun dog who sings and talks to him. (Although I have to admit that Shae and I are a little creeped out by the dog. Especially when he randomly starts talking to us. "Peek-a-boo, I see you!") Here Teddy is loving his dog:
And here's our clean little man. Shae put the diaper over his bottom so the picture would remain "tasteful!"
Teddy has enjoyed continuing to try new foods this week:
Have a great week everyone!
