Early visit... from the tooth fairy!

Teddy's playgroup meets on Friday mornings and this week we met at the playground in our neighborhood.  We had a rough morning (between Teddy going to time out in the am and Leo being fussy) and I texted my friend Melanie that I was somewhat nervous to take both boys to the playground for the first time by myself.  Well, not by myself thankfully... but with out Shae to help.  Leo of course decided to eat right before we had to leave, so we were late.  When we finally got there, Teddy had a great time with his friends.  He was playing so well with his little buddies and Leo was sleeping peacefully....
Until all of the sudden I heard Teddy crying.  He and his friend were walking on the piece of wood that borders the playground, using it as a sort of balance beam.  Guess who doesn't have very good balance (can't imagine where he gets that from?).  He came running to me with blood all over and a tooth hanging out. Thank goodness for my friends who were with me!  One of them grabbed my phone and called my pediatrician while giving me  her phone and telling me to call Shae.  After several phone calls we found out few pediatric dentists are open on Fridays.  Shae planned to meet me at the Urgent Care.  Once I got there, they told me they could not do anything relating to teeth.  I held myself together until that moment when I lost it.  Teddy had been crying and crying, his tooth was now out (he must have swallowed it in the car) and Leo and Teddy hadn't eaten since breakfast.  I didn't know where to take Teddy or what to do.  The ladies were very sweet and called all around town until they found a pediatric dentist who was open on Friday afternoons.  It all worked out; Shae came to meet us and we had time to stop and get Teddy a milk shake and fries.  While I fed Leo in the car, Shae and Teddy had a little picnic in the parking lot of the dentist office. Teddy was a brave big boy for the dentist and got a new toothbrush and x-rays.  When the technician asked me to hold him on my lap for the x-rays and said, "Is there any chance you could be pregnant?" I just laughed at her!  Leo was under 6 weeks old... so NO... not a chance!!! The dentist assured us that there were no fragments in Teddy's gums and told us what to look out for.  The worst part about the injury was for a day Teddy was unable to suck his thumb with out causing it to bleed again.  So instead of a nap, we decided to watch videos in my bed all afternoon:
My tough boy with his balloon and bear "Loverboy" watching Curious George:
Still trying to smile:
I tried to explain the concept of the tooth fairy to Teddy and he looked at me like I was crazy.  But the next morning when I told him to look  under his pillow, he was very excited:
He kept saying, "I got two monies!"

A quick video that morning:

And now a shot of the new grin....
I guess he is still pretty cute!
(By the way... he didn't quite grasp the concept of the tooth fairy because he expected her to come the next night!)
