Teddy is Having a Ball

.... literallyTeddy loves playing in his new "ball pit" (thank you Stacy for the GREAT idea). When Teddy's not busy playing, he is busy napping. So, anyone who knows Shae and I understands we are very interested in saving money (the nice way to say we are very cheap). It has been a really hot summer (still in the 90's this week) but we have set our thermostat on 78-80 to be economical and conscious of the environment. You can tell how much this bothers Teddy when you see how he napped recently: He pulled the blanket on himself, and he was one sweaty baby when he woke up! With some CRAZY hair too!

If you actually read this blog you know I tend to take lots of pictures. Partly as a new mom I just get so excited over everything, and partly because I love to scrap book but don't have time... so this blog is sort of my own form of scrap booking. Anyway, I have to make sure I capture all of the monumental moments in Teddy's life. So here's a big one....

his very own first Koozy: Just in time for "Happy Hour" at the Hoschek house! Teddy sipped on water, I sipped on diet coke (still nursing)... at least one person actually enjoyed an adult beverage: And the best thing to follow "happy hour" with, of course, is homemade pizza: I have to add that we topped the pizza with tomatoes Shae grew in our backyard and it was delicious! Speaking of which, I am so proud of him and his garden. He has really worked hard on it and has enjoyed a wide variety of foods from it. I was very excited to make some green beans for Teddy straight from the back yard: mmmm.... that's what I call locally grown baby food!!
Sunday was the last day our neighborhood pool was open (did I mention it is STILL in the 90's here and I don't know what we are going to do this weekend....?????). So of course, we took full advantage of it this weekend and stayed almost til sundown on Sunday night.

And since it was also Grandma Susie's birthday, we honored her in a very special way:
"CANNON BALL" Teddy was excited his friend Phoebe came to the pool too. But poor Teddy and Phoebe are going to hate these pictures when they get older. Really, though, how could we resist?
That lizard sure seems smitten by that chicken! Teddy continues to crawl faster and I continue to try to keep him alive (he seems to have inherited my clumbsy gene... yikes). I like to call his newest game "Tiger hunt" and it keeps him entertained for a long time! Here are a few shots of him playing: Run Kashewa, Run! The only problem is that the "tiger" has claws and teeth and I am worried one day she may use them! Although she seems a bit annoyed by the "game" she continues to come back for more!
Maybe I can keep Teddy entertained in other ways. Do you think he's ready for chores yet? I could certainly use the help with the housekeeping!
Well, as you can see, regardless of what he is doing- Teddy is usually smiling! We know we are blessed to have such a happy and healthy little man.
I'll end the blog with a picture of one of Teddy and his daddy's favorite things to do:
