As promised- I have lots and lots of videos of our little man. I thought I would share some of them here for anyone who wants to see him in action. (I warned you last time that I can be a bit cheesy! And that I tend to take a lot of pictures and videos).
Teddy has a funny habit of doing something extremely cute for us over and over again- until we turn on the camera. It is sort of amazing really- how we can halt him completely, dead in his tracks, in the middle of doing the most adorable thing- just by turning on the camera or pointing it at him. We tried this little trick to see if we could stop him from crying- but weirdest thing- it does NOT work on crying! Only on adorable things!! But, as you can tell- this little trick of his has not kept me from trying to catch some of his cuteness on video. So, if you're interested- pop some popcorn, open up your favorite beverage, sit down, and enjoy some Teddy videos!
So this is his first smile caught on video. It was taken 2/24/10. Again, keep in mind, doing this little song makes him smile from ear to ear when there is no camera involved!! In fact- the only other thing that could get him to smile at first besides this song was for him to look at his favorite thing- HIMSELF in the mirror! The video does not capture the huge grins we get from him when the camera is not on him. Oh well... we still got some smiles at least. These days he smiles a lot more often than when we took this video- and he smiles at everything from our faces to the light hanging in the living room. But this was one of his first. And please- no comments about my singing. Obviously the age limit is not the only thing keeping me from being on American Idol! Although maybe I have a future career in songwriting?
This video is from 2/20/10 and it is hilarious to me. Teddy's cousins really love to try to make him smile, and they usually succeed. However, here I think Teddy's face says it all. Something like, "Are you sure I am related to these guys?" (By the way-when we got home that night it was the first night Teddy slept for longer than a few hours. I think the Gibsons wore him out!!)
This next one is from 3/21/10 and it's pretty silly- but I was trying to catch another funny thing he tends to do a lot. Again on video he is doing it much less than typical- but you get the idea. And remember- no comments on my singing!
This is something my sister (who has three children) taught me- and it has come in handy since she showed me! In fact- I'm using it now as I type!! (This video is from 3/27/10).
If anyone has hung on in this blog entry and is still watching/reading- here is one more video. So this one is from St. Patrick's day but ignore that I say it is 2009 on here... obviously the year is 2010 :) We used to celebrate this holiday by going out and drinking green beer... my how times have changed! For the better of course. Anyway, Teddy loves playing on this exercise mat! One of Teddy's favorite songs- Little Bitty- is on in the background. Notice how his St. Patrick's Day outfit fits like all of his clothes- tight in the waist and really really long. Seriously- who do they make these baby clothes to fit anyway???
He is getting sooo BIG!! Can't wait to see you guys! :)
