Animal Time!

We used our zoo pass one more time before it expired. Teddy and his buddies had a great time:

We saw lots of animals but there was only one we got close enough to touch. Mrs. Dhari showed the kids an inchworm:
Pretty pink flamingos:
Here is Teddy with his friends Brooke and Ella.
Last time we all went to the zoo was six months ago. Check out the difference 6 months makes:

Meeting Maverick

Teddy, Shae, and I were all very anxious to get to Nashville to meet the newest little man in the family. Teddy has been talking about going to see baby Maverick for weeks; he randomly would go to his room, get his suitcase, and state, "I'm going to see baby Maverick." So, when the day finally came for us to make the trip, someone was all smiles:
Here he is, the adorable Maverick James:
and his beautiful Mommy:
I couldn't wait to get my hands on the little cutie. I really enjoyed snuggling with him:
We also got to see Grandma Susie and Grandpa Steve. Teddy absolutely loves the amazing new book that Grandma Susie wrote for him. Here she is reading it to him:
Grandpa Steve got a few cuddles in with Maverick as well:

Teddy also had a great time with Aunt Sammie. Here they are patiently waiting for the cool Grow Capsules to change into sponge animals:
And finally Teddy got to hold his new baby cousin:
We picked up lunch on Sunday and enjoyed the warm weather:
The ride back to Aunt Sam's was only about 5 minutes.... but newborns can be exhausting:
Just ask Uncle Shae:
or the new Mommy:
Hanging out at the hotel with my favorite little buddy:
Shae had been sick when we got to Nashville, so he wasn't able to hold Maverick. Thankfully by Monday he was feeling better, and he got to hold his little nephew:
Dr. Shae and Maverick:
While Shae fed Maverick milk, someone else decided he also needed milk:
Oliver explained to Teddy what it is like to get a new baby and become a big brother.
Lastly, I had to include this video of Teddy and Grandpa bonding:

Tagging Along

Shae recently presented at a workshop for professionals at Callaway Gardens. Not only are we very proud of Shae, but Teddy and I were more than happy to tag along for three days. I am not sure what excited Teddy the most- but it may have been the fact that he got to pack and then pull his very own suitcase!
Or maybe his favorite part of the trip was the hotel room. In fact, at the end of our trip he repeatedly said, "I don't want to go to Teddy's house. I want to go to the hotel." Maybe it was the big flat screen TV and maybe it was the cartoons we let him watch while were there. Maybe it was the cake pops he got to eat:
or maybe it was the comfy bed:
We had a blast (I felt bad for Shae who had to work every day while we played). We had a pass to do all kinds of activities through out the gardens. Teddy was so much fun to spend time with! We enjoyed the Birds of Prey show so much on Tuesday that we went back again on Wed. This is Olivia the owl (she flew right over our heads several times):
Another of Teddy's favorite things to do was sit in the many rocking chairs through out the gardens:
The gardens were gorgeous. Here is Teddy at the Horticulture Center:
Teddy explored the children's path through out the gardens:
Another big highlight of the trip was the pool. Although it was overcast, they kept the outdoor pool at 80 degrees.
We enjoyed snack time from our lovely deck:
Another rocking chair:
Another really cool thing we did was go to the Butterfly Garden. Although it turned out to be quite a hike, it was worth it. You can't see them in any of the photos, but inside there are lots and lots of butterflies everywhere. Teddy had a great time chasing them:
I think he had a good time on our trip:
Unfortunately, when we got home, Shae was under the weather. When Shae stayed home from work Thursday, Teddy kept him company:
Which gave me time to make some cake pops. My neighbor had an Angry Bird party for her son's 3rd birthday and ordered some cake pops from me:
(Teddy and Shae got to eat the "practice" ones earlier in the week). Shae did do some work while we was at home sick. His minnie-me was right there with him, also on his computer:
and phone:

Spring Planting

Spring is officially here, and it is time for spring planting! Shae carefully chose many new additions to our garden. Here Teddy is helping plant our blueberries:
Teddy LOVES to dig in the dirt!
Teddy also helped plant a very special part of the garden:
He was very excited that he got to "push the peas in" the ground. I know he will be even more excited when we get to pick and eat the results of his hard work. Here is a shot of Teddy's Pea Patch right after the boys planted it:
Even Lisette got dirty and helped with some planting:
Teddy wants to help with everything. Here he helps with the watering:
But we don't spend all of our time outside in the yard. One morning while I was out, Shae got Teddy dressed and made this video. It was too funny not to share Teddy's impression of the Man in Black:
