Bye bye mullet

As usual, Teddy has been a busy little boy... busy playing, eating, walking, and trying out new words. And of course, busy checking out playgrounds. We went to the PDK airport after a Moms club activity with some of Teddy's friends because they have a great playground. But I think Teddy's grandpa Bud would be proud of what he chose to play with... out of all of the cool things on the playground:
For such a little guy... Teddy sure can make a mess. And in a VERY short time! Check out what he did to our living room in just a few minutes:
All that playing (and messing up a house) makes a little boy tired! But before bedtime, he and his father do a little reading:
We went to Hastings Garden center and Teddy had a great time watching the train, looking at the fish (he did try to eat the fish food.. yuck), and watching the parrots. But of course his favorite thing to do was to watch the older children run around and play.
I'm putting in this next picture because I absolutely love his little slippers! They are bears and they were a birthday gift. Now that Teddy is walking all over they are extra cute (but it's too hard to catch a picture while he's walking)
Teddy's cousins were on Spring Break last week, so we went to the zoo with them on Friday. Again, Teddy had more fun watching his cousins than looking at the animals, but we had a great time!
COUSINS in a bird's nest:
Teddy's absolute FAVORITE part of the day though, was when Caroline and Maggie shared their "dippin' dots" with him:
So, you probably noticed in these pictures that Teddy's hair has been growing and growing. After many "not so subtle" hints from family and friends, we finally decided to take Teddy for his first hair cut. Bye bye mullet- hello big boy! Here's a before picture (do you think it was time?):
Here goes:
Teddy did fabulous- I think he had a great time! (Who wouldn't between the 3 wheeler, the elmo movies, and the toys?) In fact, the nice lady told us he was her best customer all day. At first I thought maybe she says that everyone, but then I remembered while waiting for our turn we heard two very unhappy children crying their hearts out. Lucky for us, the only one close to tears was me. I can't believe how fast Teddy is growing!
After from the back:
On Sunday night we decided to treat ourselves to eating out. Shae strapped on the back pack and we walked up to Twisted Taco. It was just like "old times"... except we had a baby and we were eating before 5:30! But it was very fun.
I think we're probably in the process of dropping Teddy's morning nap. As I type this, I have given up on today's in hope for a long mid-afternoon nap. But over the weekend, during his morning nap, Teddy struck an adorable pose I had to capture:
We hope everyone is having a great week!

Teddy is 15 Months Old

No, Teddy is not upset in this picture because I am late posting it. He is upset because for his 15 month pictures he was a sick little boy. He did not feel well all week, and these are the "best" pictures I could get of him. Our typically happy and smiley baby was miserable, and so we are keeping it real with these photos. The good news is that he is now feeling much better and is back to his happy self! (I thought about taking some more shots with Teddy and his sign and bear this week now that he is feeling better- but was told that would not be keeping it genuine).
Of course I can't believe another month has flown by. Teddy's charming personality seems to be coming out more and more every day. Having him sick last week only reminded me of what an easygoing and happy baby he typically is. He has added several new words to his vocabulary and he is walking full force now. He still loves to play with balls and he now will bring me books to read to him. He also seems to really like some of his stuffed teddy bears and it is too cute when he gives them big hugs. At his 15 month check-up he weighed 22.5 pounds (he has only gained 1 lb. since his 9 month appointment) and was 31.2 inches tall (up over 2 inches since his 12 month appointment). The doctor is not concerned that he has not gained any weight over the past few months, as he has been much more active since he is walking (and is obviously not underweight... he still has his adorable cheeks!) Overall Teddy is doing really really well and we continue to realize how blessed we are to have him.

Happy Birthday Aunt Sammie!

Teddy wanted to make a video for his Aunt Sammie's Birthday. Please do not mind that the sign is read backwards in the video. Teddy tries hard but he hasn't quite figured out the Macbook camera just yet. Happy Birthday Mammie!

Love,
Shae, Lisette, and Teddy

Where did March go?

Well, I am obviously behind on the blog! Between being busy and having some technical difficulties uploading pictures, the month of March flew by with out any more updates. Teddy has taken off walking and he is definitely keeping me on my toes. We had a great month though, and here are a few of the highlights.
For St. Patrick's Day we went to a "clover hunt" in the park in our neighborhood. It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun. Teddy enjoyed hanging out by the food:
While he didn't find any clovers- Teddy did like the yellow flowers:
And Teddy seems to like "finding" other things as well. When I was putting a few things away in the nursery, Teddy "found" the pack of disposable diapers:
After meals, he likes to "find" all kinds of goodies in his highchair:
And here is a picture of what I found when I returned from going to the bathroom one day:
Teddy "found" and unzipped my backpack, through the gate, and took out his snacks. He then proceeded to dump them all over the floor so he could eat them off of it. Guess he was ready for snack! Seems he can't keep his hands off anything, including my water bottle:
We decided to get a zoo membership this year, so we headed down to the zoo with our friends Jen and Vanley. Here are the boys ready for the drive:
Teddy and Vanley check out the bears:
While Teddy has been growing like a weed- so has his hair! I know it is time for his first haircut, and we will get it soon.... I'm just not quite ready yet! Check out his hair wet:
Speaking of hair... you know what they say about a mullet... Business up front:
PARTY in the back:
Teddy is so much fun as his personality is coming out. He cracks me up. One day as we were playing with the ball, I would throw it, and he would bring it back to me. In my head I was thinking I am just going to have to accept that he is all boy and may love all sports. But as he was walking back to me with the ball, all of the sudden he put the ball to his ear and said, "Hello, hello, hello"
I laughed so hard! I just love that little boy... and his daddy too:
Here Teddy rides on the infamous cow at my parents' house:
Teddy looking all grown up in his sweater, sitting in his chair:
We have always made pizza on Fridays but I recently decided to start trying to make calzones as well. They are really pretty easy and are SO yummy! Here's a shot of our calzone night:
Yes- we are all wearing flannel. Because what goes better with Friday night calzones than family flannel night?
The weather this month has been all over the place, but we've been playing outside every change we get. Here Teddy and Shae traded sunglasses while playing outside:
And playing outside makes for a dirty little boy! After bath though he smells so good:
For St. Patrick's Day, we decided to have some festive food. Shae made cabbage and potatoes and suggested I make some irish soda bread. Here's my attempt before cooking:
and after:
I wish I could tell you that it tasted as good as it looked. But if I said that, I would be lying. It was SO gross! The only way Shae was able to eat it was by loading it with a bunch of honey, peanut butter, or even frosting! Oh well, I tried. Teddy got into the holiday spirit though. And his message was, "Don't just wear green, GO green":
We were so excited to go to the Macedonia Elementary School production of The Wizard of Oz this year. They did SUCH an amazing job and we were able to clap for our favorite little munchin and dancing poppy:
I found another "treasure" at a consignment sale a few weeks ago. I got this great backpack to carry Teddy in for only $10. We've already enjoyed using it several times and Teddy seems to really like the view:
Family picnic time by the river:
Teddy was very happy with all of the tennis balls we found by the courts:
Teddy says, "Hey, can somebody let me outta here?"
Last week I babysat for a neighbor and Teddy had a great time playing with the boys. I even got to try out her new double stroller as I walked all three boys to playgroup:
One last picture and I'll end this long update. Here is "resident Teddy" making his "rounds":
We hope everyone is doing well. I will also be adding several videos and Teddy's 15 month update soon!

Teddy's First Year

Obviously I am having fun with our new mac. Making/editing videos with it is so easy and I am just starting to learn all of the different things I can do with it. Here's a video I made with pictures of Teddy from his first year:
